This financial assistance is offered as an eight-semester tuition and room scholarship at any state-supported college or university in Mississippi.

Nissan Scholarship (NISS)

The Nissan Scholarship provides funds for applicants that will attend a Mississippi public two-year or four-year college.

For this prize, students must show leadership abilities through participation in extracurricular activities. They must also demonstrate financial need. Furthermore, the competition asks students to write a scholarship essay answering a timely question related to the automotive industry.

This scholarship offers an amount that will pay full tuition, required fees, and a book allowance.

Mississippi Grant Programs

Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG)

Created by the Mississippi Legislature, the MTAG program is designed to provide financial assistance to Mississippi residents attending state approved public and private not-for-profit two-year and four-year eligible colleges and universities. The primary objective of MTAG is to provide educational opportunities for students who wish to pursue postsecondary education in the state and do not already benefit from federal need-based aid.

The MTAG awards up to $500 per academic year for freshmen and sophomores and $1,000 per academic year for juniors and seniors.

Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant (MESG)

Created by the Mississippi Legislature, the MESG program is designed to provide financial assistance to Mississippi residents attending state approved public and private not-for-profit two-year and four-year eligible colleges and universities. The primary objective of MESG is to provide educational opportunities for high-achieving high school students who wish to pursue postsecondary education in the state.

The program awards up to $2,500 per academic year.
