1. Tall Clubs International Foundation Scholarships Program

Deadline: March 1, 2024

Amount: $1,000

Who is this scholarship for? Applicants must be under the age of 21 and meet the minimum height requirements for membership in Tall Clubs International—5′ 10″ (178 cm) for women and 6′ 2″ (188 cm) for men — in stocking feet. This award is for high school seniors who will attend an accredited college or university in Canada as a full-time student. See scholarship provider for more details. 

From the Scholarship Donor: Kae Sumner Einfeldt, founder of Tall Clubs International, Inc. had dreams of creating an organization that would promote causes that benefit tall people. In 1992, one of those dreams became a reality in the creation of the Tall Clubs International Foundation, Inc. The Foundation realizes the special needs of exceptionally tall people. The current focus is to provide scholarships to individuals under the age of 21, entering their first year of higher education, and who meet the minimum height requirements for membership in Tall Clubs International of 5′ 10″ (178 cm) for women and 6′ 2″ (188 cm) for men.

2. The Leonard Foundation Financial Assistance Program

Deadline: March 31, 2024

Amount: 100 Awards From $1,000 to $1,500

Who is this scholarship for? This memorial scholarship /  bursary is open to students demonstrating financial need. Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling in an accredited undergraduate degree program in a college or university in Canada. In addition, they must participate regularly in athletic, fitness or military activities. Personal qualities showing a potential for leadership are also a requirement.

From the Scholarship Donor: The Leonard Foundation has a Charitable Trust and also a Financial Assistance Program for students who, without help from the Foundation, would not be able to continue their education. It is significant that Colonel Leonard placed emphasis on financial need rather than high academic achievement. He also believed that the recipients of his awards should have qualities for leadership so that Canada could grow.

3. Palantir Women in Technology Scholarship

Deadline: March 2024

Amount: $7,000

Who is this scholarship for? This award is open to women freshman, sophomore, or juniors who are majoring in or plan to major in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Additionally, the prize is for current undergraduate students actively enrolled in an accredited U.S., Canadian, or Mexican college/university during the academic years that the scholarship is awarded.

From the Scholarship Donor: We launched the Palantir Women in Technology Scholarship in 2010 to support and celebrate women who are beginning careers in technology. We hope to encourage women to pursue computer science, engineering, and technical studies, and to become leaders in these fields.

4. RE/MAX Quest for Excellence Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 13, 2024

Amount: 40 Awards of $1,000 Each

Who is this scholarship for? To be eligible, entrants must be a Grade 12 student attending high school in Canada in the September 2023 – June 2024 academic year. 

From the Scholarship Donor: RE/MAX Canada is now accepting submissions for the 2024 RE/MAX Quest for Excellence scholarship program, which is open from September 12th, 2023 through to March 13th, 2024. The annual program awards a $1,000 scholarship to 40 graduating high-school students in Canada, presented during their commencement ceremonies.

5. Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Command and Ladies Auxiliary 2023 – 2024 Bursary Program

Deadline: March 29, 2024

Amount: $1,250 Each

Who is this scholarship for? This program is open to students currently enrolled a post-secondary education. Applicants must apply to OSAP or their provincial equivalent. Students must also meet one of the following criteria:

  • Ex-service personnel or currently serving members of The Canadian Forces (Regular, Reserve, and Merchant
    Navy) or their spouse, child, or grandchild.
  • Commonwealth war veterans or their spouse, child, and grandchild.
  • An Ordinary and Life member of The Royal Canadian Legion or their spouse, child, or grandchild.
  • An Associate member of The Royal Canadian Legion or their child.
  • A member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary or a child or grandchild of an LA member.
  • Stepchildren and step grandchildren may also be considered where applicable.

From the Scholarship Donor: The Bursary Program is designed to assist those students who are entering or continuing their post secondary education (including courses and training programs of a technical and vocational nature) and pursue the same course throughout their academic years.

Approved bursary assistance is not based upon scholastic standing but rather on the successful admission status to a postsecondary institution or successful completion of one or more years leading to a recognized degree, diploma or certificate.

6. Vertex Foundation Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 2024

Amount: $5,000

Who is this scholarship for? The scholarship is open to all legal residents of the U.S. or Canada who are full-time or part-time students in good academic standing at an accredited institution. Applicants must have been diagnosed with CF or be an immediate family member of someone diagnosed with CF. 

From the Scholarship Donor: The Vertex Foundation Scholarship helps people with cystic fibrosis (CF) and their families (siblings, caregivers and children) pursue two-year, three-year, four-year or graduate degrees by offsetting some of the cost of attending college or graduate school. The Vertex Foundation awarded 88 scholarships for the 2022-2023 school year, changing the lives of those students and enabling them to take their education and lives further.

7. Kochhar & Co. Scholarship

Deadline: March 31, 2024

Amount: $1,000

Who is this scholarship for? To be eligible for this prize, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Attend college or university on a full-time or part-time basis no later than September 2024.
  • Have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during their last academic year.
  • Submit an answer to the essay question no later than 11:59 PM EST on the day of the deadline.
  • Be a resident of one of the following countries:
    • Canada
    • United States

8. Stossel in the Classroom 2023-24 Essay Contest

Deadline: March 22, 2024

Amount: $1,000

Who is this scholarship for? This contest is open to writers in grades 5-12, (ages 10-18). Writers must be located in North America, Hawaii, or a U.S. military address, and all submissions should be in English. Applicants must submit an essay (500 to 1,000 words) on one of four topics. 

From the Scholarship Donor: Every year, we hold an essay contest to give your students an opportunity to express themselves and win great prizes. This year, we’re giving away over $12,000. And we have prizes for teachers, too!

Students have four topics to choose from, allowing them to write on the subject that speaks to them the most.

9. Strike Group Canadian Immigrant Scholarship

Deadline: March 31, 2024

Amount: $2,000

Who is this scholarship for? You are encouraged to apply for this scholarship if you immigrated to Western Canada and are pursuing an education in the trades or post-secondary.

    Who is this scholarship for? This contest is open to all high school and middle school students. 

    From the Scholarship Donor: Through the World of 8 Billion student video contest, middle and high schoolers are given the platform to think critically about global challenges related to population growth and share what they think we should do to fix it.
