10 Scholarships with April Deadlines: Win Money in 2023!

So, let’s face it. College isn’t cheap. Tuition costs, books, and other education expenses add up quick.

While you’ve probably heard this before, scholarships offer a way for students and families to manage the cost of college. This is true. Winning scholarship money can help fund your post-secondary aspirations in a big way. Some college scholarships offer tens of thousands in funding for multiple academic years. Of course, these scholarship programs are typically very competitive.

There are many scholarships with smaller financial prizes, too. Some awards may offer $500, $1,000, $2,000 or a figure in this range.

However, scholarships offer more than money. Imagine being an undergraduate student close to graduation. You’re applying for graduate school or perhaps a competitive employment opportunity. Consider how several scholarship wins will look to a hiring manager or an admissions committee. Without question, a track record of winning scholarships will help you stand out.

What does this all mean?

Winning scholarships helps you in your career and with your bank account!

To help you with your scholarship journey, we’ve outlined ten scholarships below with April 2023 deadlines. However, before applying for these April scholarships, or any other scholarship for that matter, it’s important to read and understand all eligibility requirements

Tip for Finding Less Competitive April 2023 Scholarships

As noted above, some scholarships get many applicants. However, this shouldn’t deter you from applying for prizes.

Scholarships with less competition are, as you may have guessed, easier to win. But, where do you find these opportunities? The answer is to look for scholarship competitions with highly restrictive eligibility requirements. Why? Because you’ll likely compete with a small pool of students.

Some of the best resources to help you with this research are your high school guidance counselor, local library, or your college or university financial aid office. In each case, you can ask about local scholarships that are not widely promoted. If there are local charities, businesses, or other institutions giving away money to local residents, this will dramatically decrease the amount of potential applicants.

Just compare this kind of prize to one that states something like, “this scholarship is open to high school seniors and current college students in the United States.” As you can imagine, there are a lot of high school seniors and undergraduates in America, which means your potential competition is significantly higher.

A Note About Winning April Scholarships

Of course, finding scholarships and winning scholarships are not the same thing.

Winning a scholarship requires a strong application. To build one, you must know what scholarship committees look for. Always remember that someone will read your application and they’ll look for you to check various boxes. The more you’re able to help them easily check those boxes, the higher your chances will be to win that prize.

So, what are you waiting for? April could be your month. Your financial situation and career opportunities could get a huge boost. This is your moment. Seize it!
